We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: our Board rocks! The Ronald McDonald House of Fargo has an outstanding group of people who make up our Board. At the office, we see how they care deeply for the mission of RMHC, put forth hard work to keep families close and joyfully support this community. We were curious as to what drives these passionate individuals to serve on our Board so we simply asked them. Their answers are pretty inspiring. Today we’ll share about Shauna Wimer and how she is #forRMHC.
How did you get connected to the Ronald McDonald house?
Our family was first introduced to RMHC in 1994. Our niece was born prematurely with health conditions that required an extensive stay in the ICU. RMHC was a wonderful home of respite for our family. We stayed connected to RMHC throughout the years and have grown to love this organization.
Tell us a little about your current job.
I am the Director of Advertising Sales for Midco, responsible for managing the digital, cable and sports advertising teams throughout the Midco footprint in ND, MN, SD.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Volunteer at the RMHC!
What is your favorite thing about North Dakota?
The people. The workforce. The initiative and spirit found here every day!
What do you enjoy about being on the board of the Ronald McDonald house?
I’m honored to be surrounded by the talented individuals who bring leadership to the community. Each board member, like many volunteers and donors, have a personal connection to this organization. Add that to generous hearts and giving spirits. It’s a fantastic group.
Have you decided on your outfit for the Sweetheart Ball yet?
Of course I have! I’m a Cyber Monday fanatic.
What is your favorite season?
Give me a 80 degree day spent poolside and I’m one happy lady.
What is your favorite movie?
How can I choose? We movie marathons often and have an eclectic movie buff teenager in our home. There is always either a movie on or we are heading to the theaters.
