Resident Managers take care of our families on nights and weekends so that our families have staff 24 hours a day if they need them. They are an amazing part of the team at RMHC that helps #keepfamiliesclose!
We asked them a few questions so you can get to know them a little better!
Where is your hometown? Nikki is from Southern Minnesota, and Seka is from Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire (the Ivory Coast)
What is your favorite thing to do in the Summer? Nikki – “I love to go hiking” Seka “I love going camping and hiking in places I have never been before”
If you could live anywhere? Nikki said “Hawaii!”
What would you like people to know about the Ronald McDonald House?
Seka “The Ronald McDonald House is an incredible organization. The importance of the home away from home, the support and hope it provides families, cannot be described adequately with words. As an employee, working here has significantly increased my empathy towards others and inspired me to help as much as I can. I have learned so much from families, valuable lessons in courage, hope and resilience.”
Nikki “It’s a cozy and homey place where all the staff are kind and compassionate. I love being able to offer a smile and helping hand to families knowing it will ease the burden a little at this challenging time they are facing. My favorite part of this job is being able to connect with the families and also putting together welcome bags filled with items tailored for each individual family. It is fun to see them be so excited about the things picked out just for them when they arrive. “
Favorite Holiday? They both agreed on Christmas!
Perfect Day? Seka “Waking up early enough to watch the sunrise, go somewhere new and explore and discover something, have sushi and cuties for lunch, read a life-changing book, swim in the ocean, play music and sing around a campfire and watch the sunset.”
Nikki “A sunny, 70 degree day on any beach and doing an activity with family”
We are so glad to have you both as part of the RMHC staff and we thank you for taking care of the families!
